I have a 2012 F150 with the 5L.
Recently the high speed fan just comes on randomly (very loud).
It sometimes comes on after seconds of first starting it cold and/or when it’s warm.

I’ve done a quick search and although it seems common on both 5L and Eco I haven’t found the reason why and how it’s fixed.
Some have said it’s the AC pressure being to high?
I would think it’s a sensor reading a false temp and engaging the high speed fan.

Anyone else have this problem? Or know the fix?

Thanks.

I've have the same issue on my 2012 F150 5l. It started last summer, my AC charge was low so I had it checked and topped up.
Since then once I put it on AC the fan goes right to high, noisey as hell doesn't seem to do it when using the heat

Interesting....I also topped up my AC recently after it sounded like the compressor was clicking on and off.

My high speed fan turns on without the AC or any heat on....today after driving it for about 20mins it came on and stayed on until I turned it off.

I checked the coolant and it’s above the add line....I’ve read that’s also a reason it may turn on.

Man lots of posts out there / almost as many different fixes though.
One issue that would be easy to overlook.
