I want to like this so bad but something about the proportions isnt mixing right for me.

I hear you. I was drooling when I saw the two door renders, but the four door doesn't quite do it for me.

yep, make it a 2-door pickup.

That looks damn cool. Get why they made the Gladiator a four door with the 4 door Wranglers outselling the 2 doors so badly, but the 2 doors look horny as hell.

I considered the conversion when I was shopping for a new truck. But it was too expensive ....and...well...it would have taken me 3 years to build.

Yeah the 2dr / Extend cab makes it look a whole lot better.

I feel like the 7600# tow rating is a bit modest

It terrifies me considering the standard JK has a 4000lbs capacity and even doing that feels sketch. Be interesting to see how they upper the capacity that much.

Plus a Ram 1500 is highly likely to be cheaper........
To me this is a fail on many levels, but I guess we will see.

The engine alone is gonna be a dog towing any significant weight

It's something new that has round headlights and a 7 bar grill. People will buy boatloads of them at sticker, dump bulk cash in to accessories, then somehow beat depreciation when they sell them for the next gen model. Objectively they shouldn't, but they will.

^Yeah but it looks stupid. Same as the newly proposed Bronco (overgrown Jeep Renegade)

They’re supposed to be offering the 3.0 ecodiesel as an option, not sure if it will happen, but if it does those can tow a lot. And actually, the 2.0 turbo with the mild hybrid will be good for towing as well.

Maybe it's just me. But I live in the north where it is legal to ride ATV, Side X Side and snowmobiles on the main street down town, so I thing this truck with roof off and doors removed could be the cats meow.

I say it is a win in the right place. I would do it.

Ya I’m sure it will be popular in areas like that, as well as sunny states. Apparently the box is made to haul toys, like quads and dirtbikes

^They look terrible, and they’re still like $50k. We had a stripper like that but in silver, we swapped out the wheels for some nice 19” black/machined wheels with mudders, it sold with a week. Jeep is way out to lunch on the pricing. People don’t want a smaller truck, they want a cheaper truck, don’t bring out a smaller one for the same or more than a Ram, then be surprised when it fails.

You would have different discounts in Florida than we would have in Canada.....but that one you posted looks cool.

Can't believe it has the same wheels as my wife's 2004 Liberty!!

This truck is beyond over priced. There are loaded Rubicons on the Trader for close to $70k

Lol, well it doesn’t. I’m sure you’re kidding, but in case you’re not they use a different bolt pattern now.

They’re terribly plain wheels-I agree. Epic fail on Jeep’s part...to me they should have started with the Rubicon only, then brought out the strippers a few months later.
Funny thing, my dealer was told they had to order 30 vehicles to get a Gladiator early, we chose to take no vehicles and wait an extra 2 weeks.

Too many doors. Needs more box.

Seen a few of these running around now. Cool looking little rig. Still think it needs a single cab Comanche version.
So I looked up the price. :omg:

Similarly equipped to my truck would be $53k.

Pics and details?

Been back and forth about getting the girls something to replace the Civic, the more we looked the more I realized that they didn't want a car. They finally mustered up the strength to tell me they wanted a Jeep. So like a good dad I showed them a Jeep Compass....... at which point they both laughed at me! Looked at a new Jeep Wrangler but way over budget, hell even used ones cost a fortune. I had no clue they held so much resale. Anyhow we founds a decent 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara in there color of choice black. Now we have two vehicles to throw money at :hopelessness:

Sorry can't seem to upload pics.

I know it's not as practical as the 4-door, but I much prefer the look of this JK conversion.
