Got just over a 1000 kms on the new vert and time for a cleaning, well I gotta admit , the painted wheels (black) that came with the PP1 package are a real PITA to clean , don't know what kind of brake pads Ford used but WOW my wheels are covered in brake dust ! are there any decent products to dissolve this stuff, without damaging the shiny painted surface ?? Thanks, G>

this what I recommend. It’s initial outlay cost more but zero scrubbing. To me that is important especially on black wheels. They scratch up very easily.

it is sold through Amazon.

If pads are the same that come in the PP2, dust from mine backed off around 2k.

Do any of these wheel wax's or sprays work to stop or make it easier to get off, I know they could be ceramic coat , but that's a little extreme !

Wheel waxes need a lot of re-application due to the heating of the brakes. So basically the answer is no.

Ceramic coating will help but not for long. I remember using, I think it was Black Magic wheel polish and foam wheel thingy, and had good results to clean the wheels the next time after. It was easier to clean off the brake dust from the Hawk pads I was using.

A product like CQuartz DLux is designed specifically for brake calipers and rims would certainly help out dramatically as well but the Autofanatic Wheel cleaner is the best way to go. The IK Pro 1.5 foamer can be purchases for around $43 and the Autfanatic product itself is $53 plus water. Do this twice a week and you are good to go.

I’ll have to check out the Auto Fanatic stuff. I hate cleaning multi spoke wheels.

I simply wax my wheels regularly and I can clean the wheels with just a wet rag with no issues even after a track day

Where did you end up buying the AutoFanatic products from?

My '21 Brembo brake OEM pads had significant dust, so at about 5000 kms on the car I changed to PowerStop Z23 front pads (carbon-fibre/ceramic). 85% less dust. Can't keep the barrels clean, but I foam the car/wheels then use McGuiars detail wax every week and wipe down. I may try some PPF in the barrels some day, I have it kicking around, or Xpel ceramic wheel treatment.

Rock auto has the pads for $57 (plus I bought the spreader tool to do it right).

Edit, I have a 5% rock auto discount code until July if anybody wants to get these pads or anything else, Rockauto says to share it... so here you go!

Just bought Armor All's brake dust repellant spray. Seems to have good reviews, lasts for a few weeks. Will try this on the face and barrels of one side of the car and report back.

I personally use a wheel cleaner called Sonax. It’s works excellent, spray on cool wheels, let dwell and rise off...done.

I buy it through Amazon. I first bought the spray bottle and then bought the big 5L jug refill as it’s the least expensive way to buy it.

Last time I bought it was July 2019 and still using the same Jug. Search for Sonax 230500-740 Wheel Cleaner, 5 L

I just ordered the small spray bottle to check it out, if it works as well on my wheels I'll be in for the JUG ! Thanks Again to all that responded ,

The stock GTPP pads are Ferodo DS2500 pads. Pretty good stuff. I would just wash the wheels regularly with something ph neutral
