Just saw this on Summit Racing's FB page:

3705 lbs is friggin tubby; this is presumably without fuel, driver or other fluids? Add 250 lbs, so you can safely say its 4000 lbs fully loaded ready to drive. :(

I can't believe anyone actually thought the mustang was going to be lighter than before

My guess is that would be curb weight, with all fluids and such.

Still heavier than I expected tho.

The reason everyone was expecting a less portly car is because the rumours suggested Ford was looking to chop off a couple hundred pounds, aiming for the 3300lb mark.

With the technology and light wt components available to them, mark me down as surprised Ford was unable / unwilling to trim it down wt wise.

^^^ because they would have to trim it up cost wise :)

Maybe they are waiting to see how the aluminum F150 works out. :D

They could've done it by keeping all the unnecessary tech crap out of it.

Just drag the dies back out for the Aero-nosed Foxes already...

In my mind, would be different if the Mustang still fell into a price point pony car catagory. Seeing as it doesn't, feel they've fallen well short on the Jenny Craig end of things.

Looking at the stats, this new Mustang GT is only 85lbs heavier than the previous GT. Not too bad considering it now has an IRS.

Now if Ford could only send the car to a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon and get it a nose job.

Hell yes on the nose job.
