Does anyone have now, or have previously used either of these? My front plate holder broke last spring and I got away with not having the plate on all summer, however I don't want to chance it again. I liked the look of the front with no plate visible so I'm going to grab one of these before spring but wanted some opinions, especially from the fox owners.

Or do I just splurge and pick up the electric version?

I have this one, came with the Stalker front bumper cover. Spring is too weak to support a lic plate cover, so it bounces around when up.....I have it permanently retracted cause it looks better....Im sure the cop would consider not writing a ticket since it is attached to the car, not sitting in the back seat, lol

Cool. Thanks for the feedback. That's the one I was leaning to anyways. Hidden fairly well and does the job. I would likely leave it hidden most of the time also, although I do like people seeing the vanity plate sometimes at the shows too.

I had the same one on my mustang.. it was very difficult for me to find a nice place to mount on my car (05 GT) since you need the 6 or so inches for clearance when the plate is folded in.

I ended up mounting it on my chin spoiler, off to the side since it was really the only place that had the room and meat behind it for the screws to hold.

I had it on for about a year, and no complaints. Held strong both hidden and folded up. I only took it off because i didnt like the mount location.

Motorized version I had on the previous Cobra lasted a very short time before cable broke.

One on my current ride is from Craig's. Extremely simple and well made, would buy again.

But those plates don't slide under the bumper do they?

No they just attach and detach quickly. The one I posted on my car slides.

I currently have the cheap hideaway one and agree that the spring is not the best. Anyone want to do a groupbuy on the Craig's custom plate holder? :D

when i had my miata i just threw it on the dash. I have no idea why it is mandatory to have a front plate in Ontario.

I hate the front plates as well. Sucks that we have to detract the beautiful front of our cars.
