I been thinking about painting it to match the body color.
Haven't done so as they tend to take a beating.
Opinions please and maybe some one could do a Photoshop on it for me please.

Black centre section and painted outers. That's what I did for the spoiler going on Ol Paint. Well, actually I painted the entire thing and had the centre wrapped.

Sounds like an interesting option, Stephen any pictures you could share?

^^^this...they do look good however stone chips are a problem especially if it's not a quality paint job to begin with...

Stephens looks amazing with painted ends and black center section. If it gets chipped after a few years, easy to remove and have it shot again.

Doug......Paint it and add a clear wrap to help protect the paint. I think it will have an even lower look if painted.

My 2 cents is to paint it.

Painted fully, and you could possibly get it covered in 3M.

You can try to get a tint for the fogs Doug , cheap and still somewhat functional from AM .

You know my vote Doug (I suggested this when he posted pics on another forum)
I have mine painted like a GTCS bumper currently, I think I am going to get it fully painted this year.
The flat black with flat clear doesn't hold up as well as fully painted and the fully painted seems to make the car appear lower which I like.

Personally, with the theme Doug has going on, I think full painted looks better.

And although I normally prefer the fog delete (and it does look good here too), they kinda suit Doug's ride with that all bright work going on and its 'over the top' look.

There's nothing else black or charcoal on the body so I dont think leaving the centre unpainted or dark fog covers would really suit it.

Black centre, sides painted.
Once cured you can spray on clear plastidip for protection. If the plastidip gets chipped you can repair it using xylene or mineral spirits by thinning out damaged area so it's smooth, then apply another layer or two of the plastidip)

Id almost say keep it black and paint the rockers down the side and the lower section of the rear bumper black to match

^^^^WOW!!!!!!!!really, I guess that might be something on the menu that isn't ordered often. But everyone has a different taste so why not mention it.

To me black bottom cars / trucks that only expose 4" of black would look to much like rocker guard.

Although I think it looks good in black, the V6 and I think g500's have them black and its a common thing to change to painted, like I also mentioned the painted surfave makes the car look lower than it is

Gives it too much of that "Base Caravan" with non painted bumpers look to me.

I really like the all black, makes the car look lighter and smaller. BUT either all black or all painted IMO. The split paint job as outlined above on the front looks good though.
Anyway Doug lots to choose from!!

With the lower section of the rear bumper black as well I like it but then again I also like my 79-86 foureyes with the headlight bessels and body moldings black and my 79-81 grills in black but that just me.

I have a CS rear bumper that is black on the bottom as below (not a good pic)

I considered painting my chin spoiler when I installed it on my '12 but since the rockers are black, I'm sticking with black chin. If my rockers were painted like yours, I would have painted mine as well. As said previously, all painted or all black.

I vote for something completely different...swap out to a cs front bumper to match the rear.

2414

IMO it would look most matched and complete. Then swap to 2010+ mirrors to smooth the look further...then open a cold beer and stare at car in the garage till spring. :-)
