Hey guys,

Anyone know how good the steel Cowl Hoods by Goodmark are? I know it will be about the same weight as stock but I worry about fibreglass and I also don't think I can use my hood struts on a aftermarket fibreglass hood.

I found this on kijiji, I know they sell cheap fibreglass knock offs but they are advertising Goodmark Steel hoods.
Looking for opinions!

Thanks!

ask CheckeredDemon on the other board. John is a friend of mine, and one of the best car painters in the country. Epic skills. I think he recently bought one of these and might be looking to sell it cause it doesn't clear his 351 install. I remember his saying he was fussy on the finish as the glass ones all look like ass once the glass shrinks with age. For example, my piece of shit hood - fits kinda like a size 2 jeans on a size 6....and the surface looks like a commercial for Proactive (before) lol

Thanks Paul, will do. I am possibly looking at a Kaenen Fibreglass hood as well. I hear mixed reviews on most, but all positive on these.

Even steel ones will require big prep to look real good, since it is the biggest surface on the whole car...and presented horizontally below eye level, lol.
They can get dented and dinged and twisted in shipping.

Yeah but my hood is cracked up alot and IMO not worth the $$ to have a body shop fix it. I do love that it is unique though....ugh. I don't know WTF to do.

Im afraid of what it will cost to look good. It's also not functional. I'm also afraid that even if I fix it, it will crack again.
