Well, technically not new..

While trolling Kijiji for an Cat-Back exhaust since mine have a broken baffler and it rattles. I found a deal I couldn't pass up.

I bought 6 Rims with tires for the price of 4 rims no tires! I saw the ad and sent him an email right away to come see them. I also asked about the tread depth. He told me he was throwing the tires in for free and mainly just selling the rims.

I never make offers over phone or email. It has to be in person. His price was soo good he ended up having alot of interest in them. But I contacted him first and he honored that which I thought was pretty cool.

I went expecting Bald tires and curb rash for the price. I was soo happy with what i saw

4 Cobra R Style 17X9 with 275's all around. 2 have 5/32" depth (BFGoodridge Super sport). The other 2 have 3/16-7/32" (BFGoodridge sport)

Bonus... 2 Cobra R Style 17x10.5 with 315/35r17 BFGoodridge T/A Drag Radials with about 3/32" tread

I ended up talking to the guy for about and hour, Hes a really nice guy with 03 Cobra and a GT. Thesewheels were from his cobra. He mostly had the the staggerd config. He selling them because he want to go back to stock 03 cobra. I Tried convincing him to join TMC. I aslo Tried to convince him to come out to TMP Track day. He seems interested but prolly needs a push lol.

Oh forgot the best part. after talking to him for a bit and telling him that I was actually looking for an exhaust and I pretty much blew my budjet on his rims. He told be that he has a Magnaflow Cat-Back sitting in storage. He bought it for the GT which his daughter drives But She didn't like Them. So he switch to Flowmaster. Only had them on the car for a month.

I'll be picking them up sometime soon. So Kijij Was a major Win for me.

Chrome should look good on the true blue.

You going to use these on your street setup? Or use them for the track?
hint hint: 4 RC tires, 2 drag radials

Few questions

Does anyone know anything about BFgoodridge Super sport tires? The owner prefered them to Nittos 555.
For the RC is it betted have the 4 275s over the staggered?
Will the 275s rub? The car is lowered 1.5"

They say at 3/32 tread that I should consider changing them. Is that the same for Drag Radials? will they last this season? around 5000km?
Googling them say they are DOT cert. So are they actually good for street? Will i need 1" spacer for these?

I have not heard any recommendations for a staggered set-up for the road course.

I have minimal rubbing with 275 track tires mounted on 17"s. Track tires are wider than street tires, and some track tires are wider than others (my old Hoosier Cup's were wider than Nitto NT-05's). You will not rub on 275 street tires.

Thanks Matt

I can't wait to throw them on. I'm even thinking of throwing the battery back in so I can move the car to get to the other side.

I bought these last Sat and since then I've been having alot of racing day dreams Vrooom Vrooom!

If it was me: I would run the staggered Cobra R's on the street with (whatever tire you choose). Then put a set of 275 drag radials on a pair of the remaining 17x9's. I would use your Bullitt style rims for a set of RC tires. Are they 17x9 as well?

LOL @ the winch

The Bullitt wheels are Stock from the Premium edition GT. soo... 17x8 So buying the 17x9s was always on my wish list!

These wheels are soo fat

You'll slide over and generally be dangerous, I'd never drag radials on a daily driven car.

As seen in the Pics the Rims do not have center caps. What center caps look good with the wheel and where do I buy them cheap.

On my old V6 mustang I had the Tri-Bar Pony center cap

let me know your thoughts and ideas

I've got some OEM Bullitt centre caps. If your interested shoot me a PM. I might have some other ones too but i'll have to check.

Oops just saw the wheels again, the Bullitt caps are black. Not sure how they'll look. I'll send pics anyways if you want.

So I couldn't help myself. I just Had to put those tires on. Went to Costco bought myself the 3 ton low profile Jack. Threw in the battery and Started her up. While I had her running I decided to take her for a spin around the neighboroughhood.

Once I got back and I got to work! I put on the Staggered config. Rears are soo fat!

After I finished I took her out for another spin. As soon as I left my driveway in my excitement I forgot to put my seatbelt on. So I pulled over to do it. Looking around I decided i want to let er rip... I Just wanted a little tire chirp nothing big.... I didn't know at the time but I was sitting in a puddle and sooo...I ended up doing a burnout instead. Right front of my neighbors house. What a D-bag move!

Another block later I try again making sure it was dry and... I have to say the grip scared me a little. Huge difference!

Anyhoo Picture time!

SO apparently the OEM center caps don't fit on these rims. OEM are 2 1/2" What I need are 2 1/4"

Anyone know where I can buy a 2 1/4" centercap? Besides Ebay?

I cant wait to feel them on the Track.
Other note while Installing them I found out that the other two 17X9 rims are different. the bolt holes are smaller and its thicker in the center. They look weird

They look like this one
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/61d4mExMnrL._SY355_.jpg

So I think I'll go with Don suggestion, throw slicks on these and use them for the RC only

RedSN

Sounds like the Eagle Alloys I have (had) my drag radials mounted on.
I have to use a spark plug socket to install the lug nuts. Impact socket is too big to fit into the deep holes.

Went in the garage to take out the garbage and ... damn the rims are shiny! not used to it and I'm loving it!

While i was there I decied to try out Don's suggestion with the spark plug socket! After climbing over a mountain of tires to get to my small tool box and 5 mins of searching.. the socket fits perfectly! both the nut and in the hole

Thanks for the Tip
