A man accused of throwing a can of beer onto the field during Tuesday night’s wild-card game at the Rogers Centre has been charged with mischief in connection with the incident.
The incident, which has prompted widespread outrage, occurred just as Orioles outfielder Hyun Soo Kim was about to catch a fly ball during the seventh inning of the do-or-die game.
The man, identified as Hamilton resident Ken Pagan, contacted police after they released an image of a suspect in connection with the investigation on Wednesday.

Ken Pagan is seen arriving to speak with Toronto police on Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016.

Toronto police released a photo of a suspect Wednesday evening after a beer can was thrown onto the playing field during a Blue Jays Wild Card game on Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2016.

Police sources had previously said that investigators had “clear and convincing evidence” tying the man to the incident, including surveillance camera footage from inside the stadium.
Since meeting with his lawyer, Pagan arrived at 52 Division just before 7:30 p.m. on Thursday night.
He has since been charged with one count of mischief, his lawyer and police confirmed shortly thereafter.
“The police have been fair with us in dealing with this,” his lawyer, Tyler Smith, told reporters outside the police station.
“He’s here to co-operate as much as he can right now. But at the end of the day, he’s presumed innocent, and he won’t have anything further to say.”
Pagan is expected to appear in court on Nov. 24.
In an interview with the Toronto Sun published Wednesday night, Pagan said that he was not the one who threw the beer.
“I was drinking out of a cup,” he reportedly said.
Pagan is an employee of Postmedia.

I suspect this will not end well if he's found guilty both from a legal / employment situations.

True that as well.
Innocent until proven guilty, good point.

Whether he threw the beer or not, I think they're focusing too much attention on the whole thing really.. Like, who really cares?? Maybe it's cause someone who really LOVES beer said how could they do that to a poor defenseless beer!? LOL RIP Beer :'(

I put about as much stock into stuff like a thrown beer as I did when Kim Kardashian got robbed.. I actually laughed in hysterics!! LOL Looks good on her!!

Incident begs the question, was said beer tossed at the outfielder and almost hit him or was he close to where a randomly tossed beer landed?

It was a can of Bud Light. Someone who really LOVES beer would throw it too.

I can't wait to see how this plays out. I would love to be a fly on the wall in the courtroom.

Regardless what kind of beer it was, I can't believe they wasted a $15 beer.

WTF

here's a tip

if you're gonna chuck a full can of beer at someone....don't pick the pro baseball player that has a live camera glued to him with about 45 million people in North America watching on live TV

what a dumbass

Because it reflects badly on Toronto and Canada as a whole and we don't need anymore reason for the States to hate us for "no reason" lol

that being said...has anyone looked at the obvious?

that it wasn't a Jays fan at all, it was an Orioles fan that threw it, what a perfect cover to make Toronto fans look bad and stir the pot?? Doesn't take any effort to throw on a Jersey and route for the opposition...

I always look at the conspiracy side of everything, it's a habbit LOL

Idk if that look is "can't believe you just did that lady" ...or "it wasn't me I still have my beer in my right hand" ...unless he's a lefty & multi tasks holding cup of beer in right , & throwing left ....I say he's innocent

Again, who really cares? They hate us anyways... Might as well live up to it. ;) They hate us cause were good at what we do... And at the end of the day they're only happy when they're bitching about something.
I can't wait to see who becomes President!! lol Were gonna need our own wall!! :D

The beer throwing sucks yes, but I am WAY more concerned and embarrassed that there where racial slurs being yelled at the players supposedly. That is 100% inexcusable and should not happen.

Agreed, it's unnecessary, however, racial comments are not going to twist some ones ankle or blow out some ones knee if stepped on...

I think they would rather handle a slur or two, rather than be on the DL for the potential post season...

I think a lot behind the attention this is getting (finding the guy, going to court etc) is proactive to limit it from happening again. They are setting the precedent to let everyone know that it is wrong and will be taken seriously. Because if they did nothing and the next time the player gets hit and gets a career ending concussion or something, it will look as though it was allowed to happen without consequence.

I think that faggot kept his job or got it back? If I recall, there was a follow up story.

Yep, can't fire union.

A statement from Simoes’ union said the arbitrator found the firing was “unjust” and was swayed by Simoes’ attempt to make amends for the incident, including voluntary sensitivity training and a donation to the White Ribbon campaign. Simoes’ status as a unionized employee is a major factor, and Kastner says a non-unionized worker in his shoes would have a much harder time regaining their job.
