Which brand and where did you get it installed. Most importantly, does it work well and are you happy with it.

Brands I've always stuck with DEI for aftermarket ones. Depending on the vehicle I would highly encourage you to see if the OEM makes an integrated solution that just plugs in and works with factory fobs vs having to splice in to the factory harness.

I have a Viper LCD 2 way remote starter on my 2011 Toyota Sienna for the last 3 years now I think... I have had no issues with it, having a 2 way remote was a must for me and since the van takes a phenomenal amount of time to warm up, the added 1 mile range was good to have when going out. I'm sure I've said this before but all my vehicles only go to Audio Heaven in Richmond Hill. They've been in business for over 20 years at the same location and warrant all there work for life. No short cuts and top notch service, added bonus is they'll take weekend appointments as well. You can check out there website they'll have something that fits every budget.

Not sure about all systems but the one I got uses a programmable module that's plug and play, no more cutting the harness or using a key to bypass OEM security.

If there is a plug and play option he will likely have access.

Just an FYI for those looking for remote starters.
I've switched to a line called idatastart. Parent company is ADS and has been producing interface modules for about 10 years. They've recently launched their idatastart line of integrated remote starters and interfaces and they are awesome!
I have installed most brands on the market and gotta say this line is awesome.
Have done about 30 in the past month in various applications and have been flawless.
Strongly recommend
