View Full Version : Who's going to win? Trump or Clinton?

Not who you want to win, but who do you think will win?
As of today most polls are dead locked.

Regardless of the popular vote the electoral collage will give it to Clinton. Would probably be best case scenario. We have enough socialist left lovers as it is. If Trump wins there is a lot of Bernie Sanders lovers that say they will move to Canada.

Apparently the militia will call to arms if Clinton wins.

I'm sure this is just fluff but still.

http://www.presstv.ir/Detail/2016/11/02/491830/Trump-Three-Percent-Security-Force-Chris-Hill

Chris Hill, leader of the Three Percent Security Force militia, said if Clinton beats her Republican opponent Donald Trump on November 8, they would not remain silent, Reuters reported Wednesday.

“This is the last chance to save America from ruin. I'm surprised I was able to survive or suffer through eight years of [President Barack] Obama without literally going insane, but Hillary is going to be more of the same,” said Hill, who goes by the name of “Bloodagent.”

I think it's possible Trump wins.

A lot of Democrats that voted for Obama, I think, will stay home. Obama promised change, but for the average African American nothing has really changed.

Also the new health care increases just hit last week, I know not everyone is affected, but that could swing some voters to Trump.

The 2nd amendment supporters may come out in droves and vote for Trump, because Clinton wants to try and take away the 2nd amendment. There are almost 83 million registered gun owners in the US, if most vote for Trump, I can't see how Clinton wins.

We all should care because this election will effect Canada in one way or another.

USA is our number one import and export country.

Hillary has said she will leave NAFTA alone but Trump has threatened to tear it up.
Not because of Canada but jobs heading to Mexico.
If this happens this a potential problem for Canada.
Now its not just as easy as tearing it up but new tariffs and duties could be introduced.
This election could be very good for us or a complete disaster.

A few stats on our relationship with the USA:

◾Canada purchased US$338 billion in goods and services from the U.S. in 2015 – we are their largest customer
◾Canada and the U.S. are the world’s largest trading partners as more than US$670 billion in goods and services are traded annually between our two countries
◾Canada is the top export destination for 35 of the 50 U.S. states
◾Our countries exchange approximately $1.6 million in goods and services every minute
◾Nearly 9 million U.S jobs depend on trade and investment with Canada
◾The U.S. is the largest destination for Canadian direct investment abroad, totalling $448 billion in 2015

The context was that citizens had the right to bear arms responsibly for their own defence and protection against any recognized legitimate threat be it a bear or a British Redcoat. That's what a citizen militia was for. Unlike today's paranoid delusional wingnut "militia" or asinine "freemen on the land". And actually at that time people did need to hunt if they wanted to eat meat. They were too busy trying to build a life and put food on the table so I doubt they had much time for skeet shooting.

Let me know when you get your Abrams tank, you may have some trouble getting it across the border but then again a guy down my street just picked up a surplus US Army Hummer, so you never know. What kind of mods would you be contemplating? :tongue-new:

Not sure if this happened or not but...

“Apparently his campaign has taken away his Twitter. In the last two days, they had so little confidence in his self-control they said: ‘We’re just going to take away your Twitter,’” Obama said in Kissimmee, Fla. “If somebody can’t handle a Twitter account, they can’t handle the nuclear codes. If somebody starts tweeting at 3 in the morning because SNL made fun of you then you can’t handle the nuclear codes.”

And on Monday in Ann Arbor, Mich. Obama brought it up again: “If your closest advisers don’t trust you to tweet then how can we trust him with the nuclear codes?"

Trump has been known for putting his unfiltered thoughts on Twitter at all hours, which sometimes has run contradictory to the goals of his campaign. For example, the attempted outreach to Hispanics by tweeting a photo of a taco bowl didn’t quite energize the group the way he had hoped.

His aides have frequently been asked why they haven't just confiscated his Twitter password in an effort to focus his messaging. But his campaign manager, Kellyanne Conway, told CNN last month it was not her job.

“It's not for me to take away a grown man's Twitter account,” she said.

Regardless of what team Trump says, his Twitter stream has been restrained in recent days with fewer personal thoughts and more campaign-event promotion.

LOL!

Paul Martin came from a Liberal Family, with his father Paul Martin Sr. being a long serving Politician and PM Jr., himself, being elected to the house in 1988, long before he became Prime Minister and orchestrated a tax law change http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/csl-gained-from-tax-rule-changes-under-martin-opposition-charges/article1159605/ to benefit the Martin Family business.

It is a real Liberal Stretch to compare Paul Martin to Trump. LOL!
PM was an experience Politician and Lawyer, long before becoming PM.

Trump is also NOT a Lawyer, which is refreshing for a Politician.

I do find it entertaining when select people think they know more than they do, but will have an excuse as to why they weren't wrong. Makes for entertaining reading.

In the mean time....

For die-hard Democrats holding out hope that they won’t have to live through a Trump presidency, there is a last, incredibly long shot for them latch on to — a surprise twist in the Electoral College.

Though Hillary Clinton won the popular vote by 200,000, Trump has won the minimum of 270 electoral votes necessary to be elected president. As of late Wednesday, he had 290 to Clinton’s 228.

According to the Constitution, chosen electors of the Electoral College are the real people who will vote for president, when they meet on Dec. 19 in their respective state capitals.

However, there is technically nothing stopping any of the electors from voting their conscience and refusing to support the candidate to whom they were bound, or from abstaining from voting altogether.

There’s even a name for it: becoming a “faithless elector.”

The idea of electors reversing their vote is rarely discussed — and was most recently bandied about after the incredibly close 2000 election in which George Bush narrowly beat Al Gore. And electors going “faithless” is exceedingly rare.

Well over 99 percent of electors throughout American history have voted as pledged, according to an analysis done by the New York Times.

It does happen, though.

The last faithless elector reared his roguish head back in 2004, when a lone anonymous voter in Minnesota declined to vote for Democrat John Kerry and instead voted for Kerry’s running mate, John Edwards.

The rogue’s vote was purely ceremonial, as Bush already had 286 electoral votes, more than enough to ensure his reelection.

Faithless electors are technically barred in only 29 states from ignoring the will of the voters, though the penalties are light. And a faithless elector has never swung an election.

But given the high dissatisfaction with Trump among Republicans, a few faithless GOP electors could well go rogue next month.

One Texas GOP elector, Chris Suprun of Texas, a firefighter, told Politico in August that he finds Trump so unpalatable he’d consider voting for Clinton when he gets to Georgia’s capital on Dec. 19th.

Baoky Vu, a Decatur businessman, told the Atlanta-based news site AJC.com in August that he couldn’t stomach voting for Trump either, and was quietly convinced by local GOP leaders to resign as an elector.

Clinton would need more than 20 GOP electors to go rogue and vote instead for her — a mighty tall order.

Even then, the new, Republican-controlled Congress meets Jan. 6 to approve the electoral college vote, and would certainly vote to void any roguery, handing the victory firmly back to Trump.

The Founding Fathers created the electoral college because the were “afraid of direct Democracy,” according to FactCheck.org.

In fact, Alexander Hamilton thought the electors would make sure “the office of President will never fall to the lot of any man who is not in an eminent degree endowed with the requisite qualifications.”

It remains to be seen, given Tuesday’s surprise election result, whether Democrats — and even some Republicans — who question the “requisite qualifications” of president-elect Donald Trump will push to revisit the Electoral College system

Yeah, that's craziness. The people voted for him. Their the only ones to blame for happens next.

Actually, at this point, I want to see this experiment go.
There's a list of promises he made, stuff he said he would do. Lets see how many he checks off the list.

build a wall
get rid of affordable care
ban muslims
kick out serians
prosecute Hillary
strengthen the military
fix infrastructure
bomb the shit out of ISIS
bring back waterboarding
force Nabisco to once again make Oreos in the United States
deport all illegal immigrants
.....and MAKE AMERICAN GREAT AGAIN

Although I'm not sure what the benchmark for the last one is. Great "again" implies American was great at some point, but what point or time period that was, who knows? the 50's?

Apparently (yet not confirmed) some of those have all ready been removed from his campaign website.

AZ and NH and MI still counting....there a chance Trump45 wins the POP Vote too, with those numbers being so close and that will be another box of kleenex the DEMs will need.

Dems are already Trumpeting Michelle Obama for 2020. https://forum.filezilla-project.org/images/smilies/silly.gif

It's red. A lot of red.
And I'm sorry but with difference in popular vote a slim 0.2 % that's hardly the majority of America.

It bugs me that the "ban muslims" shows up this short.....I believe the proper version included the statement that it would be a temporary measure until the US system could determine who was and who was not a terrorist.

Population density....

Yes and that's why they have a sister that then do.

Look at here in Ontario last election. Biased of geography Ontario did not want the liberals back. But there are enough votes in Toronto to make the votes in the rest of Ontario meaningless.

What your end up with is a party that caters to one area and dont care about the rest.

Clinton assumed she would get the votes In the key areas and never bothered to campaign in a lot of areas that she should have. That's what cost her the election.

It's the same twist they put on the Mexican thing. In the original statement in the contexts he was talking he said that the some of the Illigals that were coming from Mexico were rapist and murderers.
They shorten it and remove the context and now everyone says he called all Mexicans rapist and murderers.

And the grab them by the pussy thing. People say he admitted to assaulting someone by just grabbing them by the pussy
But what he said was when your rich they let you do anything you want, grab them by the pussy.

I call it the Liberal Alarmist Edit. It a is redaction of the full narrative to arose the response they want, not the one that would be generated by the actual facts.

One of the other Liberal Strategies is the quoting of information, without links or credit from the source.

If you cut and past small portions of these post and search them, you often find the information is from some Left Wing Koolaid site or Liberal Think Tank.
Thankfully, there are still enough Conservatives to curb the constant onslaught of misinformation and leftwing BS.

I'm not sure if the average person understands why there is an Electoral College system in the US.

I know I didn't fully understand it. This video helps. It's actually pretty ingenious and I don't see it getting changed soon.
