Only the Province should be allowed to do that.
Then again, I'm not surprised that York would pull such an idiotic idea.
The article is really stupid. Duh we know no one wants more tax (would be story if they did). Which politician wants to tax? What’s the deficit exactly? Why is there a deficit?
I get (but wouldn’t like) a sort of tax to increase public transit. But governments should force builders to think transit and infrastructure to get people moving in their new communities. According to the article it’s to support existing infrastructure so that’s kind of nutty.
They are nuts! No way I am going to pay that tax. Take my cars away and I will take the bus.
The thing is, based off of what? I certainly wasn't aware of this proposed tax or a polling took place until it was brought to my attention yesterday. Did you know anything about this Don? I believe more like 0% of the residents would agree to this simple cash grab from our very wasteful and corrupted government.
First I've heard of it.
Exactly my point: who the hell are these 10% of residents that did not STRONGLY disagree with imposing this new tax?
I want to give them a kick in the nuts!
We'll see how that goes. The current provincial government's mandate is to save tax payers money, not impose more taxes.Quote:
Regional council is calling on the provincial government to grant it the ability to bring in new taxes, including a vehicle registration tax and a land transfer tax.
Holy crap, we already get hosed enough. So tired of this, it’s no wonder why business is leaving Ontario. This cash grab bs really needs to stop!!!
There are local elections coming up so anyone supporting this should only get 10% of votes at most.
