Battery Reco Needed
My 14 year old Exide AGM finally bit the dust (my fault forgot to hook charger up after my move) and dropped a cell.
Can't get the Exide's locally anymore it seems so looking at ordering an XS Power or a Odyssey AGM. Avoiding Optima because I seem to recall their quality took a huge dump a few years ago after a buyout. Anyone got any others to look in to?

I don’t know if Costco/Kirkland offers an AGM, but I would check and see. I just bought a new battery for my daughter’s Fusion and the price from Costco was the best I could find, and their warranty is still excellent.

I believe Costco does carry them and CT as well.

I've had best service life out of OE style batteries.

Replaced the FoMoCo battery in my New Edge last summer after 14 years of service. Still worked, just noticed it was taking a bit longer to crank over. Replaced as a precaution with the same OE battery. The EverStart Maxx (Walmart) battery in my foxbody came with the car, is 10 years old and is still going strong.
FoMoCo, AC Delco and Kirkland wet batteries are made by Clarios formerly Johnson Control. EverStart batteries were made by Johnson Control, before the buyout.
If it must be an AGM battery, Odyssey would be my pick.

I was thinking AGM only because of the 14 years I got out of the last one. I went with a group 34 sized AGM last go around because of the stereo and other bullshit I had on car.

In my experience AGM batteries fail more often than acid-filled old-school batteries, I would only run an agm/gel if it was inside the car and not able to be vented. I agree with the others in a Costco battery, even Wal-Mart is fine as I used an EverStart in my old YJ Jeep, it was cheap, held its charge over the outside winter slumber, and was good for the 4 years I had it.

Lead acid… another vote for Kirkland, aka Duracell, aka Clarios, aka Johnson Controls LOL
