Remote starter issue
I am having an issue with my 2010 Grand Caravan. Factory remote starter. When I hit the button the van starts but only runs for about 10 seconds. It won't start again with the remote starter. Tried googling info to no avail. Anyone have any insight? Don't really want to take it to the wallet sucking dealer....
Thanks

Worst case you might consider replacing with an aftermarket unit.
I had one installed in a 2014 in Dec. $320 + tax. Thought that was decent given the Dodge quote of almost $1000

Check underhood switch is being pushed far enough when the hood shuts, think I remember reading about that somewhere.
Open hood, manually push n hold down, cycle auto start.

Some different suggestions here... RS won't work with a Check Engine light or Low Fuel Level light illuminated. RM start can't get RPM verification - possibly loose wire.

This is Correct.
CEL and Low fluid will cause a remote start to fail.
I can only imagine a car who is experiencing mechanical failure or fluid lost being remote started and not looked after.

Ok, thanks for all the suggestions. I will check out the hood latch scenario. I did have an engine misfire last summer which was a defective coil. Had it replaced. Maybe another one is going south.
I'll keep you guys informed.

Looks like I've got an intermittent issue with one of my coil packs. And when it acts up....I guess on cold starts check engine is on. I tried it this morning sitting in the van to confirm. Armen had it right. Having the coil pack replaced tomorrow. Getting plugs replaced at the same time. Thanks for the suggestions and help everyone.

Cool it's just that easy.

I wish I had a coil pack issue XD.
Glad it got fixed.

This happened with my 2013 GT when I replaced my map lights with LED's. Car starts for few seconds and stops. Replaced back halogen bulbs, fixed.
