A promise is a promise. I said I would because some guys here were just too tunnel-visioned. Although I didn’t vote directly for the Libs, I didn’t vote Conservative either, which ultimately is a vote for the Libs anyway. And it’s the first time I haven’t voted Conservative since I don’t know when. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one to have done this either.
So good, I’m glad he won. People who blindly squeal the virtues the far right will ultimately scare a progressive, who might have otherwise voted conservative, over the line to a party that’s more moderate.
And that’s exactly what happened here. Everyone thought Trudeau was going to fall. The Uber Right got all riled up and into a frenzy about it and revealed themselves for who they really were. And that’s not a Canada that most want to live in.
The Libs were punished for their errors and given a minority. But a minority of this structure is hardly a minority at all. They only two parties that are going to hook up are the Greens and the NDP, and they are both more in line with the Libs than the Cons Or Bloc. So really, it may appear as a minority but I don’t think it’s going to play out that way.
