^ It's a comparable kinda deal.
I take it to company's mechanic of 20 years so no worries about him not replacing the filter, however after Monday's oil change I noticed a burned oil smell coming thru the vents, is the oil filter located close to the exhaust manifolds? I am hoping its just some oil that spilled on to them.
It's possible but you'd expect smell to be long gone after a short drive.
^ better to know for sure. Leak or maybe left oil cap off?
Dropped the hammer on a set of WeatherTech floor mats for the truck.

Nice purchase, you'll love em.
My Dad's 06 Ram 1500 had a built in slide for the oil, it actually made for changing it not too bad...the new ones are a dklfjsijoiwhjqeiohldsjnlk;dsnglksjdgknowienwionfkl ;nflkasfn!!!!!!!!!

Have any of you ram guys done the cabin filter mod? Cheap mod so wondering if it's worth it.

Nope haven't done it
Had no idea, thanks Hugo.
Before deciding to move forward, keep in mind there is a downside. If you don't change often enough, some of the shiat that accumulates / grows in those filters is gross.
I've got the same ones mounted on my truck. I thought they were great last winter. Did a lot of trips back and forth to Picton through the snow.

It’s now a work truck , used ARE cap from Windmill , not sure if I will get another one as a dd yet
You retire the van John?
I’ve only driven in the snow with them on Saturday and today. They’ve performed up to my expectations so far. Stopping seems to be reduced and traction also seems to be better. I have been in 4 wheel auto though, so that may have something to do with it. Overall glad I got them for sure.

New tires are awesome in the snow but there is one lil problem, too much snow kicked up / accumulating between the rear fender edge and the running boards. Ordered a set of these for the front from Weathertech

Didn’t know weathertech made mud flaps. Thx.
Edit: of course, not available for the Frontier
Looks like OEM make em though.
Installed a set of weather tech mats in the truck today. Found water under the previous mentioned floor mats.....
Been monitoring underside of my WT mats, dry thus far. Good catch on yours.
I bought the weather tech mats and flaps the day she came home.
Watch you don't back into a snow bank. The mud flaps can come off and then you drive away.
Hasn't happened to me. But I was warned when I got them that it happened to a few customers.
Drove it home from work this morning. Certainly glad I got snows and auto 4wd so far this year [emoji6]

Funny you should mention auto 4x4. I like it for light slippery conditions. But I'm not a big fan of how it engages in the full on snow. It's not as smooth or seamless as I'd like. So for this kinda weather, I just leave it in full 4x4.
With all this wind, I've shoveled twice since snow blowing this morning.
Trailer tow mirrors installed last night , good thing for YouTube or I woulda ripped the door apart lol . Can’t look at my truck the same now that’s it’s worked for the last month with a different driver . Gotta find another gal ;)
My auto 4wd is not as smooth as I would like either. Going up hills is very notchy, flat surfaces hardly even notice it.
The weathertech mud flaps are great, installed them day 1.
My duratracs are still doing OK too.. thought I would have to turn on the 4x4 last night, but no problems with light throttle. Not as grippy as they were when new.. but not bad for the mileage on them.
Bought one of these for pulling the sled trailer today. Truck sits a fair bit higher vs my GM.

Ordered the Noco block heater plug, put myself on the wait list for the Diode Dynamics LED bulbs, now researching AMP research power steps and winter. Love the idea of the power steps but afraid to drop near 2k on steps and have them fail in 2-3 years.
^Block heater plug? Good call on the steps though, I’ve never personally seen an aftermarket one fail, seen plenty of Ford ones fail though, $1000/motor for those.
Posted about it here

And yea, seen many a Platinum truck circa 2009-2014 with the steps permanently in the down position. I HATE the look of most steps on the Ram, figured these would be best of both worlds, but it's a lot of money for a problem I don't have, truck is fine for me to hop into, but I have had a few relatives complain when getting in and out.
^That looks like a cool option. I never plug my stuff in but I remember being impressed to see a spring loaded door and a plug in the lower grille of my ‘04 Taurus. Thought about taking it before sending the car to scrap, but yea, even if it was that easy I’d still never use it, so I left it.
