thought you'd be doing those Michelin ones?
If I was keeping to one set of wheels n all year tires, yes Defender LTX would have been the tire of choice. Will look to a set of them in the spring for summer use.
On previous trucks, pleased with them being used as all season tires, great summer performance and stellar tire life.
Hey Rick, did you install your tail gate lift assist yet? If so, finding any issues with the tailgate not latching properly with tonneau cover installed?
Hoping to slap it on tomorrow, why you ask?
2 friends of mine, 1 dodge, 1 ford both have the odd tailgate falling down due to not being able to "slam" the tailgate closed. Both have tonneau covers and the lift assist/soft open system
^ I hear you, hence the second set of rims for mine.
Not up to snuff on the Ram stuff , what does the Rebel get you other than some cladding?
First decent highway run out to the track yesterday, cruising around 120kph, average showed 10.3ltr/100km just before I pulled in.
For a pickup truck, great number. While my 5.3 was good on fuel, took driving extremely (100kph ish or under) easy to see it dip into the low 11s.
Nice #'s Rick. About what mine sees on extended Highway cruising with no headwind.
Oil test Hemi style
Approx 1200kms on fresh oil and filter change running factory 5w20, oil looked like it had never been changed.
Approx 1500kms on fresh oil and filter with 10w30 full syn, oil looks like it was poured in yesterday.
Absolute bs the cylinder deactivation won't work properly on heavier oil. It actually goes into deactivation easier vs on 5w plus fuel economy numbers speak for themselves.
Wish I could get rid of the cylinder deactivation without a tuner. I hate it and I feel it does nothing for gas mileage.

^^^I actually used to keep mine off, then I stopped and let it do it's thing and the gas milage increased significantly so it actually does work...and I'm running 10-30 as well
Tested mine both ways as well, significant gain with it working. Besides, slides in and out of 4 cyl mode so smoothly your hard pressed to know when it's working.
Damn Rick, you're getting better mileage than I do with my 2.4L 4cyl Santa Fe. Almost 11L/100km
Amazing numbers Rick, killing my Honda as well, lol.
Just hit 2500kms on new oil, still looking fresh n clean.
Ya heard these Dodges don't last long.
Congrats nice rig... word of advice rust proof it
For those you with the hemi and mds...
Is it normal for the exhaust to have a bit of a gurgle sound when driving with no load applied and then a light press of the pedal it cleans up?
Oddly, more noticeable in some vs others but yes / my GM did the same. In my current ride, hard pressed to tell when it's in 4cyl mode. My brother says it's terrible in his 6 speed Grand Cherokee but barely noticeable in his 8spd Ram. I suspect how much you notice is more of a 6 vs 8 spd kinda deal.
It's a 2014 laramie 8spd.
Ok so as long as it's normal I am good with it
I think you'll come away impressed.
Ordered one of these Bad Boys plus carrier bearings n races for mine yesterday.
