Long overdue as Ford has only offered wimpy displacement V-8's in Mustangs since 1975.
GM and Chrysler have offered larger V-8's in their muscle cars for a long time.

Hopefully it doesn't get as huge as the Challenger with the CD6 platform. I am reading now that it may retain the current DC2 platform and use some of the CD6 bits.
I'll believe it when I see it on a dealer's lot.
