I enjoy detailing my vehicles and really need to invest in some tools and product. I am taken to my happy place when I do a full detail. Takes me the better part of half a day to do my entire...
The F11 was the most expensive offering of the tested group.
I used a guy in Acton that was $500.00 for the season. Since I have sold my car, he has my spot available. PM if interested. Clean, dry storage with power if you want to connect a battery tender.
Blizzak's are great the first season. They are a dual compound tire with softer outer layer but once you burn through the first half of the tire life they are no better than an all season tire. For...
Cleaned the MAF. I have only put on about 3k since I have owned the vehicle. To the best of my knowledge, the plugs were new when I bought the car. Not sure about the fuel filter. I haven't driven...
Ford Racing $175.00
I was at 2000 rpm at 60MPH in 5th gear. 3:27's going back in right now.
Anyone want some 4:10 gears?
I believe it is a 3650.
To me, it felt like there was less punch at high speeds when getting the pedal.
yup
Sorry, I neglected to mention that I was using a gps to determine actual speed/rpm.
At 60mph (gps measured) the rpm was at 2500.
Stock 245/45/17. Speedo wasn't calibrated. Forgive my ignorance, how would speedo calibration impact rpm?
I'm at 2500 rpm at 100kph. At 120kph (avg hwy speeds) I'm at 3000rpm.
I use 87 but have run them all with no differences.
From what I know, it's a stock tune.
Had the 4:10's put in and I really don't love it. I do notice a bit more pull on the low end but don't enjoy the high rpm's and power loss on the high end. I'm going back to stock gears.
My engine seems to ping when it is warm and mileage has always been a bit crappy since I got it. 2001 4.6 SOHC. Engine runs great, no other real issues other than pinging and mileage. I'm thinking...
I'm sure I wasn't the only one that had this image come to mind when reading the thread title.

Once the gears are in, does the speedo need to be calibrated immediately? Any harm if the speedo is calibrated at a later date?
Thanks, I'll check that out.
I'm getting conflicting information. Some are saying speedo calibration is a must do and others are saying it's not (internet search - not this forum). So other than...
So I got my hands on 4.10 gears and plan on having them installed soon. Does anyone have the handheld tuner to reprogram the speedo? Willing to pay for the services.
Thanks everyone, and thanks for that detail Brian. I didn't see how the bolt ons I listed would get it there either. Maybe add 20 - 40 with the tune but not 150.
So looks like I am doing gears...
After some consideration, I would like to keep my car and upgrade performance.
The car was a factory V6 that now has a 4.6L Bullitt engine. Pretty well bone stock with the exception of a K&N...
