    How deep are you guys installing your irrigation system? Ours is only a few inches below the surface. Not coming anywhere near any utilities.

    Most sprinkler installers, for whatever reason, put their piping right on or near the property line. Then a year or 10 later we come along to build a fence or put in a deck and when we're digging the holes we'll hit a line. Unfortunately, there is no way to mark the lines, unlike gas or hydro or Bell. Just tell your guy to keep the lines a couple of feet from the property line, and put the control box somewhere other than where you might consider a future deck. Otherwise it's a great investment.
