Progressive Conservative MPP Sylvia Jones had made repeated tries to get an explanation for the expense that turned up in the 2015-16 public accounts.

They took bids? Imagine how much it cost for some office shlep to put together the RFQ (request for Quotation). It would have been cheaper by far to just go out in January to a few stores in a mall and buy coats on sale. I'm pretty sure It could have been done for 20% of the price.

and I'm betting it wasn't one office schlep....one competent schlep woulda nixxed Canada Goose outta the gate on perception alone.....and Gov't doesn't work that way....it's a group-think to ensure the taxpayer gets truly fuct

they probably had a team of 12 with multiple meetings....to review the RFQ and debate....to regroup and sign off....to hear each presentation...then to regroup and analyse...then to regroup and vote etc etc

they probably burned through 4x the cost of the expensive coats just making the fucking decision alone
