Got a recall notice for the ‘12 ram today.. kinda scary since it see’s the boat ramp at least 8x a month. I always use the ebrake but my close friend/fishing buddy doesn’t.

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2016-2017 Ram 3500 Cab Chassis with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of less than 10,000 lbs, 2011-2017 Ram 3500, 4500 and 5500 Cab Chassis vehicles, 2009-2017 Ram 1500 and 2010-2017 Ram 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks, all equipped with a column shifter. Pushing the brake pedal for prolonged periods when the vehicle is running and in PARK may cause the Brake Transmission Shift Interlock (BTSI) pin to stick in the open position. With the pin in the open position, the transmission can be shifted out of PARK into any gear without pushing the brake pedal or having the key in the ignition.

    Anyone here have this done?

Pushing the brake pedal for prolonged periods when the vehicle is running and in PARK...
    A. what is considered a "prolonged" period?
    B. who does that? Is that like the automatic transmission version of riding the clutch?

I don’t have one but I’ve done probably 50 of those recalls. It’s basically a bcm reprogram, all we do is get it the truck, key on and windows up, radio off, push the brake and listen for the btsi (brake trans shift interlock) click, if it’s there we apply the brake and push the column shifter forward, then release the brake and check if we can feel the click in the shifter handle. Hear and feel click, do bcm update, done.
If it doesn’t click the whole shizzle needs to be replaced, but I’ve yet to see one fail.

Weathertechs? They look like mine, a nice piece that helps protect this brutal Chrysler paint job.

Yes Weathertech. Put on the front last year to control build up between front of the running board and door, did a good job. Rears are to hopefully cut down on accumulation up around the rear bumper.

What have you done to your truck today?

Truck got some attention today. Ceramic tint to match the rears (close match).. stubby antenna and a deezee tailgate assist.

Reception in the city is maybe 10% weaker vs. the stock one

Next on the list is line x. Can only imagine what it looks like under my plastic liner.

You'll wanna throw up when you see what isn't left under the liner, been there and done that, never again.
Thankfully my Ram came with factory sprayed bedliner.

As long as there’s no rust I’m happy. Supposed to be a nice day tomorrow.. I’m gonna pull off the plastic liner. Line x says if there is rust and the bed needs cleanup then add $300-$400 to the tab. Fuck.
