Takes some know how to do that anymore.
Working in the auto industry I see this allot.
Are they swapping out speedo modules or is it a plug it into the computer type thing?
Years ago I had an old Passat that the speedo didn’t work on. To get the safety I had to change the entire speedo assembly out on. Had to fill out special forms to document the mileage difference.
How long would you have to run the truck in reverse to roll-back 200,000 km?

I heard they have a computer and plug into the car and roll it back. Manufactures catch it as it as there are multiple ecu’s that read mileage and if they don’t match it shows up when scanned at the dealership.
Wow!!!!

There is also mileage cancelling units installed , usually in the cluster (caught one a few weeks ago). At a determined speed driver hits a few steering wheel buttons and the speedo stops working....
Happens all the time. Lots of guys around that do it $500. As long as it has never been to a dealership there is no real way of knowing the kms. With Honda at least that I know of if you have the vin you can walk into the dealership ask for all the records and see if everything is up to date. I dont think ford and others do it that way it not linked up through their network. Mileage cancelling ones go for $1000 I believe.
