    Roller rockers scrap?

So I picked up a set of gt40 heads that have been ported and freshened up. I looked them over before purchase and was pleased with what I saw. When got home I noticed that a couple of the roller rockers weren’t aligned well over be valves which made me look closer, I noticed that the roller tips has “eaten” into the aluminum rocker arm. My question is are they junk or can they be used? I truly believe the seller had no foreknowledge of this issue to be clear.

I’d say they’re toast. Wonder what the warranty is on them.

That sucks. Does anyone know if my stock stamped steel rocker arms from my e7 heads will work in gt40 heads? Another set of roller rockers aren’t in the budget

yes...the original rockers on explorer heads were stamped steel...but I wouldnt use the stamped rockers

with an aggressive cam...should be ok with a stock/stockish cam

Agree if you’re using a mild cam the stock rockers can be used, I ran them with an F cam on 69 351W heads and had no problem. You could also probably mix and match if they’re 1.6 (never done it so I can’t say), use the rollers on exhaust and the stamped ones on intake?
