    CAD vs US pricing GT350

Am car shopping and thought I would stop by to ask this question since I haven't found anything through generic web searches.

GT350 was on my list but I can't reconcile the CAD pricing.
GT350R is approx. $20K higher or approx. 31% higher in Canada.
Yet the ATS-V (which is about the same price as a GT 350R in the USA) is only $5K more in Canada.
    GT350R USA $65K Canada $84K
    ATS-V USA $64K Canada $69K

Those are all starting prices but I can't imagine the base models are that much different.

Anyone have any insight as to why this is?
    ...thanks.

Well based on todays exchange (30%) the GT350 numbers would seem bang on.
The ATS-V would be a deal for Americans to buy here

Not sure what the discounts are like at dealer level on the ATS-V currently, but I know that GT350s aren't getting the silly ADMs they were a few years ago ...

    cheers

I’ve been looking at a GT350 and prices are definitely not as inflated as the R. For me, I won’t be tracking the car and besides the R is way above my budget. Some dealers have 2017 R’s Like Donway Ford so you may want to go and see what they say.

ATS was just discontinued. Dealers are launching major incentives on it to try and get them out of inventory. GT350s still very popular and current so dealers are charging a premium. I also think the inventory split between the ATSV and GT350 is different. Many more ATSV ended up allocated to Canadian dealers compared to GT350s. Also are you sure it's an apples to apple comparison? Like same cars on each end of the border? I know with V models you can really make a huge price difference in options.

Local used dealer has a GT350 for sale for $60K, with just under 7,000 kms on it.

Thanks for the replies and suggestions.
The GT350 is closer to the exchange rate but none of the other vehicles I have compared even come close.
I know historically the price differences are not reflective of the exchange rates.
Allocations and demand does make sense.
I mentioned that I don't know if the base cars are identically optioned...I did not dig that deep.
This is not just the ATS-V...even the base Carerra is only $13K more in Canada.
