Just an FYI for this thread....

Blackstock Ford’s mod shop, Bad Dog Mods, sells and installs dash cams. We can have it installed for you, if you wish, so it’s hard wired and you’re never messing around with plugging it in to a power point. And when you leave your car, it will automatically go into Park Mode and record what goes on around your vehicle when you can’t be there.

Ends up the problem was with the optional " Magic Cube " supplied by Blackvue. Had it removed and updated the camera and it works perfect now. Thanks for all the input.

My old Blackvue DR400G-HD (purchased in 2008) is giving me issues. Camera still works, but the firmware is obsolete and has been discontinued. It names the video files with random year 2012 dates, making it impossible to find and retrieve files.

So popped for a new one. Got a dual channel Blackvue DR590W.

Question for those with dual channel dash cams: does it record 2 separate video files? Or does it make a composite video using both channels? Or do you use aftermarket editing software to make a composite video?
