100% this. It's like some really weird imprinted fetish.

When I drive mine it brings me back to the time I bought it (at 22), cruisin in it now I don't think about all the worries and stresses of today. All the thumbs up and "hey I used to have one of those back in the day" from random people at stop lights never gets old...

When I used to drive mine I could hear every pebble I ran over, rainy days would be a scary thing, the traction control never worked, my seat would start to lean to the right, I had to change just about every part on the car to keep it on the road and the worst part the stupid gas filler nozzle is on the wrong side of the car.

Now every time I take out my s197 beast with all the comforts and power to me it still feels like a muscle car and it sounds like one too and I get more likes with this car than I ever did with my Fox because like mentioned they don't look like boxes from Russia and the s197 especially are a throw back to the 67 Mustang which more people recognize.

LMAO......Lou that's because you basically made it a drag car lol. Mine is fine in the rain, don't hear rocks hitting it more than any other car and my seats are just fine

I just took mine to Woodward, 4 hour drive in partial rain...no problemo...super comfortable...got 400kms to my tank (blower car!) and cruised up and down woodward in 30C+ temps in basically stopped traffic for hours with no issues. It's all in how you build or take care of it. I built mine to be a good fun street car and that's exactly what it is.

You're right Norm I even removed that tar crap and the door beams to save weight and when I took my car to see Lidio in MI that was a rough ride on my RCI seats but at the end of the day I am just having some fun in this thread.

In 30+ years... I highly doubt it. This whole "classic car" thing is going to end with our generation.

I disagree... As long as there's vehicles on the road, classic cars will always have a following.

Gotta agree with TB this hobby has been around too long for it to die after we do and if anything there will be more women involved since men are becoming ferries.

Maybe you’re right but who knows we may or may not be around . Lots of factors involved ie fuel, legislation, parts , the lists go on .
However I think someway it may continue, evolve?( maybe) in ways we might not have thought or imagined. I only think this way because I see it around with some young gens. My son is 14 ( 30 yrs) will put him at 44- he is a strong opponent lol on not trading for the s550, he prefers older lol.
He prefers older body style gens mustang except mustang 2 lol
His dream car would be a charger from the 60 or 70’s ( boo)
This is just one kid, but what about world wide.? I think as enthusiasts we just continue what we do and hopefully some of that trickles down to the new gens. Ahh maybe part of me still lives in Disney land lol
