    Supercharging, and consequences thereof

    Just curious. Most of the Mustang magazines out there now suggest that adding a supercharger to a Coyote motor, all by itself, is good for anywhere up to 700 horsepower at the wheels.
    What does an infusion of so much extra power do to the drivetrain(transmission, differential, cooling, oil and fuel pumps, ignition, etc?)and especially to the longevity of the engine?
    For street driving, and the (very) occasional track day, is extra fortification necessary? Or just icing on the cake?

    The present day Coyote motor is a beast that loves boost, if your auto you have nothing to worry about but some of the stick cars are breaking even without boost, your stock diff will be fine at that power level and will probably take another 150 rwhp, a complete kit comes with a Boost A Pump and upgraded injectors so for that set up Injector Dynamics 1050x's fuel injectors are a perfect upgrade and for your ignition system I recommend a set of Brisk 1 step colder spark plugs.

    The only other mod I would add would be the oil pump and crankshaft sprocket gears for piece of mind and then the most important part of all is a tuner with lots of experience with these combos and the only tuner I would trust is Lund Racing and my car is proof they know what they're doing..

    What do you think is causing the 6 speeds to fail - torque - grip - downshifting or a combination of things?

    Is it worth while tuning a stock s550...?

    The 6 speed is failing due to the trans locking you out of gear and a weak fork design but not to worry it isn't every 6 speed out there breaking and IMO it's never a bad thing to have a stock car custom tuned especially these Coyote's and an automatic transmission equipped one because Ford really has those transmissions de-tuned for fuel savings and ride comfort.
