I worked with a guy who could've subbed in for the red slimline guy in "Office Space". He was very protective of his favorite pen. I'd have a monthly 1 on 1 meeting with him and routinely stole his pen, even though he knew I would steal it and protected it for the first 10 then lost attention. I sent it back to him in plant mail every time, and he did retire with that pen in it's pocket protector.
