Anyone living in the city/burbs have one of those pop up carports? Looking to save garage space.. fox chews up a bit and the boat takes up a lot. We got a big driveway and plenty of room. This would be a long term thing. It wouldn’t be anywhere near the front of the property.. would barely see it from the road. I’ve googled some stuff and eh it’s all kinda vague. Can anyone chime in?

    I know, some think it’s a eye sore. Me, I don’t care.

My sister had one (tube frame with pull over plastic cover with enclosed ends) and used it 12 months of the year. Neighbor complained to the city, she was forced to take it down, city said it's to be used as a temp shelter only meaning ok to use for winter but can not be left up. Not sure if this still applies, happened 2yrs ago, North York.

I have 2 Shelterlogic shelters on my lot. Both are 20'x12' and are up year round, which requires city permits. The tarps usually last about 3 years. You do need to anchor them to the driveway or grass as the wind will lift them. Learnt that the hard way with my first shelter many moons ago.

Anything specific you need to know?

Nothing specific really.. I know the covers only last a few years and that’s ok. Just thinkin about the legal aspect.. a few houses around here have them. I guess it all comes down to your neighbours.. soooo I’ll most likely have issues.
