Continuing on Chris' mental downward spiral of a rant on truck prices....
So I got REAL bored and decided to experiment.
My current truck is a 2016 Ram 1500 Sport 4x4 w/5.7 Hemi and 8spd. Options are 8.4 display with Nav, Alpine Stereo, front and rear park assist, sunroof, heated and cooled full leather seats, sport performance hood, remote start with keyless go, trailer brake controller and trailer tow, and spray in liner. MSRP was $63,944.00.
If you adjust $63,944.00 for inflation you get $69,692.91 an 8.99% increase per https://www.bankofcanada.ca/rates/re...on-calculator/
I built on Ram's configurator, the EXACT same spec of my truck in a 2021 model. Nothing more, nothing less, same basic truck with a facelift, MSRP on that is $74,500. So a $4,807.09 premium over inflation to have the same basic truck just 5 years later. MSRP to MSRP my truck has risen $10,556 or 16.5% near doubling inflation.
I gotta stop having coffee after 3pm...
