It’s calmed down here now. Power came back on.

Was hopping to get more done with my week off. But did okay. Both quarters welded on the bird. So it can go back on it’s wheels.

Now finishing pulling everyth8ng out under the hood so o can clean up and paint the subframe and stuff so the fenders and doors can go back on for final fitment.

What have you guys used to clean up greasy old wire harness?

I’m gonna replace any shoddy wiring but some of the harness look okay other then greasy as all get out.

Trees down all over the place in my area. My shed (well 2'x3' rubbermaid shed) and BBQ fell over. Figure it is still windy so that is the mornings problem. Few fences in my townhouse came down too.

Crazy winds!! My chimney mounted tv antenna came down. My neighbour's 20+ foot spruce tree came down nearly taking out his front porch. My dad's roof lost about 1/4 of the shingles. Lots of roofs and fences damaged in the area.

I take the harness apart by removing tape and looms. Then use soft plastic brush and a solvent (forgot the name, I think Castrol in a purple 4L bottle, it’s sort of like spray nine). Then use a contact cleaner for electronics on the connections... helps to have a compressor with an air gun too.

Then apply 3M friction tape and new loom...

Some of those killer cleaners are very caustic n will cause long term damage if not fully removed. We lean towards using brake cleans for that kinda job. Yes way more expensive but easy on plastic connectors and wire covering itself.
