Mine is set to default to off because of this. Heard horror stories. Better to modulate the throttle with your right foot than let 90's era electronics step in.

Yes exactly why bulk of tuners set it that way. On my own, prefer to turn off at start myself but just how I like it.

Yes 100% serious, many see engine damage for what they thought was no reason by leaving it on.

Being aware of it is the key.

Def not as ZR stated, but certainly turn it off and see if the problem goes away. Just do it in a wide open parking lot away from any crowds or cars and coffee.

Come April I will see to this theory, but I’m glad I asked cause I can’t afford a head gasket.

I don't think it's traction... you said it's an '03 I believe? TC works different in the new edge cars, it cuts off the fuel and just bogs the car right down, least in all three of mine it worked like that, I couldn't figure what was wrong one day when I tried to do a little wheel spin from a light in first gear, I looked like an idiot I really thought I had heard the engine and something was wrong. but if it's consistently just not going past 5500 that sounds like something else, you would hear and feel the fuel shut off otherwise...

anyways, just a thought, if it does turn out to be TC though, like Laffs said he's got his permanently shut of, you can do this with your tuner, I had it shut off in the Black Mach (well my Dad did) and in Red one it was still on, so I had to hit the button everytime I started the car...

whatever it is... Rick will be able to look after you!
