what spring rate do you suggest? coil over or leaf? which aftermarket company should i go with, and can i use a used step spring?

Why do I prefer DD'ing a 2002 Ford Ranger over a newer Coyote 5.0? I must be a tad unconventional. Almost every morning on the 401, I think to myself "god I love driving this thing through traffic". Happy to have a fox again too... at least I won't feel bad with a cheap car not doing anything rather than a 26k (with taxes) sitting in the garage for weekends.
