Cannot believe people are still this stupid. Need to raise the fine to $1,000 and maybe include a night or two in jail.
Dog rescued from sweltering vehicle in Toronto
The owner has been given a fine and a lecture

A woman out shopping in Toronto is lucky to be returning home with her dog.
Police were called to Dufferin Mall just before 5 p.m. about a dog left in a sweltering vehicle.
The windows were left open, slightly, and a door was able to be opened without damaging the vehicle.
The Border Collie mix was rescued and given water until the owner came back.
She has been given a $125 fine under the Provincial Offences Act.
People who had gathered in the parking lot, waiting, were also given a chance to lecture the dog's owner before she left.

My family dog is a Border Collie mix, amazing dog, but she really enjoys the AC when it gets hot. I'd probably have said some colourful remarks to the woman had I witnessed that.
facing an angry mob when she got back will likely (hopefully) leave a more lasting impression than a larger fine.

Any dog would overheat in a closed up car in a short time - they don't have sweat glands.
