    it's a gear oil additive for trac-lok rear diff's.
I read a report stated it could also be used in the engine - that's why I'm wondering if anyone uses it - I've never really used additives before and read some bad things about some, especially everyone's favorite Seafoam - I did use sea foam once in bad fuel and I have to say it got me off the side of the road and home. Was filling up the old Plymouth with super and got a tank full of diesel - the driver the night before pumped the diesel into the super tank and vise versa - a lot of pissed off people that day in Shelburne...lol

^^^ That Ceratec Moly is in the website I posted above - I was looking into it - It's a graphite like additive with ceramic particles - I'm not sure I would use that in a modern engine - I would be worried about clogging the oil filter (may be ok with a quality extended filter) and the particles may act like a zinc base oil which is ok with old engines that ran on leaded gas and maybe early unleaded engines with carbs...not sure I will put any additives in my oil going to read the owners manual again

Someone in the states bought a brand new 2018 off the lot.
Got home and tore the engine down.
They stated the rods are too loose on the crank journal, allowing for too much play, further destroying the walls, shaving gets into everything and soon failure.

They replaced almost all the upper heads portion of a buddies 2018 because of itching in the cam.
I am guessing metal made it up there and destroy the cam.
did it fix the tick? Nope.

Ford say they won't replace the motor because they already did the work on it.

He now has to fight HQ to get the motor replaced, as its smoking now.

    #rip 3rd gen motor.

Are we going to see the return of the pushrod? Like a 5.0 version of the new 2020 v8?

Mine doesn’t tick yet but louder exhaust probably blocking it lol

My ‘18 GT is at 8900kms. Still not sure if this is a ‘2018 only’ issue. An ‘early’ 2018 issue. Or a ‘2018 AND 2019’ issue.....?
Either way, I’m going to put Mobil 1 5w30 in going forward.

I have over 284,000 kms on my 2005 3v. All sorts of injector and cam phaser noises have been there from the beginning. I haven't had any issues so far....touching wood!

I also asked my dealer rep about the 5.0 in my F150....she gave me the exact answer the original poster presented.

I don't know....I put 5-30 in my 2005 3v shortly after I bought it and the cam phasers start to sound like they were coming out of the engine. There are a lot of plastic parts in there that may not be able to handle the pressure. Went back to 5-20 and everything settled down to "normal"
