Thread: 3rd Alternator in less than a year ??

    So buddy changed the alt again and replaced the battery ...he had the cars for a couple of days couldn't find anything . Was looking to install a volt gauge and came across this , any thoughts or overkill ?

    Those are nice gauges. You'd be able to see more than just volt as well.

    Does the car have a gauge or a light?
    Did he find anything beyond the alt fubar'd?

    only a light ,no gauge , fnd a vent pod $31 from AM and either just pop in an Autometer gauge or spend a bit more for the Aeroforce .
    Still no known cause of failure .

    Cheapie volt gauge to keep tabs on it is all you need. Don't get steered into an amp gauge, volt tells all.

    It's where my money goes when it comes to automotive electrical parts & service.

    Honestly he's been more than fair with me ,I do service in a different field so I know gremlins can be a bitch ! Can't say I've won em all either ,fingers crossed .
