    Lancaster bomber fly by

I was cutting my grass just after 1:00pm today when I heard this loud noise overhead that could be clearly heard over my loud gas lawn mower.

I stopped and looked up and there was the Lancaster bomber flying over head.
I stood there and watched it until it was gone with the mower running.

I said to myself,"oh yeah, fucking right" while standing there.
I live very close to Lake Ontario where it usually fly's,but it's been awhile since I last saw it fly by.

    That made my day.
(just one of those rare epic at the right place at the right time moments in life)!

Flew by here yesterday too. It was super low and fast. Looked like they were doing a ‘bombing run’ at the Niagara airport.

I’ve loved seeing that plan since I was a kid and my dad used to take us to the Hamilton airshow.

Hopefully I’ll see the only other flying one when I’m in England next month.

Me too, except it was anchored to the ground when I used to go see it.

Being in Niagara it flys over me all the time. I was out walking the dog today when it flew over. I had to stop and watch it. My kids and I always run outside when we hear it. Crazy to think about how loud 1 of them is. Just imagine 1000’s of them flying over head. My grandfather loaded bombs on those during the war. He had pictures of them all over his house and would go see it fly in Hamilton when he could or even just visit the museum. That plane was close to his heart as it is with many Canadians. We are lucky to have 1 of 2 that fly in the world. Great reminder.

Here’s a pic of the Battle of Britain Memorial Lancaster that I saw today at the Royal International Air Tattoo.
