An 04 GT became available locally and I had a quick look at it. My only concern with it is that it has an SCT tune. Am I worrying for nothing or is this a deal-breaker? Can a car with a tune be brought back to OEM?

Shouldn't be a deal breaker. Is it a bolt on car with a canned tune or more modified with an actual dyno tune from a name brand shop?
As per returning to stock, if it was programmed with a handheld, you can easily return it to stock with that same handheld. If it doesn't have a hand held you could have the ford dealer flash back to OEM assuming it has no mods that would prohibit it from operating without that tune.
It has a hand-held tuner.

With tuner takes 1.5 minutes to flash back to original tune. Very easy
you need to find out what it is tuned for...you may not want it to be back to stock as Laff's said, it may not run properly without putting some other functions back to stock say timing or something like or what octane it may be tuned for
or, if it has different gears it may have been programed to fix the speed calibration...
agreed, not a deal breaker, you just need to do a little more digging to find a few things out
Thanks for the info. Just put a deposit on it!! Guy reduced his asking price so I could not pass it up.
Not sure I like the black wheels or the strips...can be changed easily.
