What Don said. Also, with a locked rear diff it will almost be or will be as capable as 4x4 with open diffs.

Don't know much about the new ranger looks like a tacoma to me - its pretty pricey compared to full size - also think it is difficult for the southern warmer states to get 4 wheel drive as they don't have to contend with snow...

    Was gonna say this.

My f150 lariat I just lock The dif. Makes a big difference. Have only needed lock the dif and use 4x4 once and that was in some pretty sloppy mud with a trailer on the back.

Sounds contradictory...Those who want to go off road but don't want 4 x 4 but will wish they had it when they get stuck.

Off-roading is fun... you can stick to trails that a stock truck or jeep can handle, it will still be challenging without all the parts breaking off...

Besides... no 2WD available in Canada...

It's not contradictory when you flip it around. ....Those who want to look like a 4x4 but never go off road

I took mine threw a field with a tandem axle dump trailer full of dirt and rocks. does that count as off roading cuz I needed the 4x4. not even sure I would have made it with the factory tires
