Did Blue Mountain Centurion 120k race yesterday (great event) and passed 10,000km's for the year this morning
Works out to an hour a day (300 hours for 10k)
Have done 12,000 per year for the last few years, will be around 13,500 maybe 14,000 this year.
Been a long time since anyone has commented on this thread, but I keep chugging along on the bike. Going to pass 100,000 km's since I started keeping track (June 2015) next week.
Rode for a couple weeks in Maui, just got back this past Saturday. Disappointed to have missed the last track day, but did get to accomplish climbing Haleakala volcano in Maui. it is the longest paved climb in the world, ~55km's and over 3,000m elevation (10,000 ft) starting at sea level and climbing above the clouds
we rode up in a bus, and it was exhausting!
beautiful sunrise from there tho

I have heard/ read that the sunrise is spectacular, but that is far too early for me to get up on vacation. For those that don't know it is a 1.5-2hr car ride up the volcano as there are a ton of switchbacks to get up the elevation, sunrise was at 6:15 I believe and it was half hour from where I saw staying in Kehei. I started cycling around 6:45. For reference - CN Tower is 553m, so 5.5x the height. Took me around 70-75 minutes to just go downhill, had to ride back through a pretty heavy storm when I got back down into the clouds, lasted for about 20km's
Spoke with some people doing the bus tour when I stopped at the visitor centre, they were enjoying it but also said it was a long tour.
Now thats an adventure of a lifetime..........kudos.
