Since the Lincoln turned out to be a pile of shit (upper torque boxes are rotted), I've decided to take a break from cars. So I'm honestly thinking of getting a bike. Which brings me to this question. Would this bike be any good?

looks nice but how tall are you? I am 5'10" and need a 56cm bike, that looks like a 54 or less.

Go to a bike shop and get measured
You will then know what size you need
    I am 5'8" and ride a 54
    Decide on budget

    Different frames ride very different
I have a softer grand fondo LOOK full carbon and do not like it as much my old steel frame Specialized
I really like a stiff sporty frame verse a comfortable soft frame
    You can then look around
Lots of good used machines and with this cold spring thing you will see sales

Ditto. Find a shop that will let you test ride. I had a giant Rincon. At 6'2 opted for the large and that was fine. Picked up a new bike last weekend. After a few test rides I opted for a Scott Spark 930 29er. Ina medium frame. The 29 wheels make the bike feel bigger. Most are more comfortable stepping down a frame size. But every rider is different.

Out for the first real trail ride on the new bike today. Fanshaw park in London. 21 km. and a good mix of terrain types. I tell ya. Going from a hard tail with rim breaks. To full suspension. With hydraulic disks and add to the the first time riding with clip less peddles. It was a little intense. Ended up on my ass a couple times. Little sore but survived. Need some seat time to build confidence up on the new set up.

Was on my horse last week and rode 400km, including a solo ride from Milton to Niagara Falls averaging over 31 km/hr.
