Looks like I have to eat my words on this one ... a few months back when it was being discussed here I opined that Ford would not give it the nameplate. What do I know apparently? LOL

I wonder, will Ford be releasing a Shelby version? LOL!

Maybe a good rig maybe not but using the Mustang name plate cuts deep and then rubbing salt in it using the Mach name too, its too much to take.
I expect this was done intentionally to light the internet on fire. It worked, but they pissed off a huge number of Mustang owners.
I hope it fails miserably and those responsible are held accountable.
If I worked for a Ford competitor, I'd be laughing my ass off right now and sending thank you letters.
Just so everyone's on the same page, we're all in agreement this gem is also associated with the Mustang name?
also this majestic stallion
and we live in an age where this is a Ferrari
and this is an Aston Martin
but we're going to get upset this is a part of the Mustang family?
^^^ at least the other ones are all cars
and the last one is an Aston sure...but not advertised as a Vanguish or Vantage V8
and @ Ed, yeah I read a few articles too that said they decided to not stick with the Mach association, there was a lot of backlash (just like there is now) before that when they first announced...who'd in charge over the LEO???? LOL
but the M is a package...why not be able to get it on other vehicles in your line? Mustang isn't a Package, it's actual car line. Shelby makes a package for the F-150 but nobody says anything about that? It's not called the F-150 Mustang...
does that Rati share the same name as their high end sports car? It's okay in my book if a auto manufacturer makes both cars and SUV's
The way your talking it sounds like it would be okay for Ford to make a Mustang but not a truck and put the Ford badge on both? I'm sure this isn't what you mean but that's how I'm reading it...
The Ferrari hatchback is a Lusso, which used to be associated with a gorgeous 2 door sports coupe.
The 3 series name covers everything from a sedate diesel wagon, to a CUV/Coupe thing, to a rip snorting M3 sports saloon. Same with 5 series
To me its fine for a brand or a model range to be associated with a gamut of products. Im saying the Mustang Grande is more embarrassing to be associated with the Mustang name than this.
