Cleaning out the old-stock from my in-laws wine cabinet. Had a 2012 Pinot Noir the other night, it was terrible. The ‘97 was pretty good.

Went shopping for new-stock to refill the cabinet.

    Speaking of old stock,
Is this still drinkable? Without getting poisoned lol, may help me sleep but I don’t want permanently

    Got it March 1998

Oh no wonder that sounded familiar Don

Thx Richard, but what is properly? Inside that fancy wine fridge with the temp/humidity reading? I just had it out of sunlight and in a box. Maybe I should recruit some brave TMC members willing to take a sip. ... I need your phone number Richard lol

lol....away from direct light, stable temp (ideally less than room temp), and stored on it's side and rotated periodically to keep the cork moist (to keep air out). I'll volunteer to taste but if it tastes like vinegar or it's flat then it's oxidized but if not then you're good to go. I'm guessing with that brand you may be ok but a lot depends on the cork (given the age) and the temp it was stored at...there is a chance it might be ok but you'll know by taste and the fizz.

Quick search found this link..seems to corroborate:
