    Let's talk tires for my GT 500

    ^^

    I moved the tire discussion from the other thread thanks to a THREAD SABATEUR - sorry if it feels disjointed.

    Fantastic tire on the lower price point segment ,impressed with wet/dry, can’t complain from a dig or roll, ( remember though this is slo turd speed) not douche category and pushed them harder last time at TMP I was very happy.
    I think I’m going on my 3rd or 4th season - and slo turd is used pretty much as a family hauler/ daily during driving season.
    Not as quiet as preimium - but I’ve driven to New York/ Washington and didn’t hear them over the exhaust.
    Nice when warm/ hot - it’s a stone , pebble thrower as well.
    I think I’ll probably go for a 2nd set when the time comes; it gets the job done.
    All in with install for $948-1000 , cheaper still if firestone running a promotion.

    255 fronts 19/9
    285 rears 19/10
    * note it’s only W rated *

    Supercharging is fine, as long as you have the right tires.

    Another premium tire that is almost as good as the Michelin P 4 S is the Continental Extreme Contact Sport:

    In many of the larger sizes that would be suitable for S197s and S550s, they can be $50-100 per tire less than the Michelins. I may go with these on my 17 GT, but without a supercharger.

    I have 315/35/20 nitto NT05R and I can usually get solid traction in 2nd gear with making 711hp. They are a drag radial. I have got caught in the rain with them and they weren’t horrible as long as you drive appropriately for rain.

    I think the 350R might be the only OEM application for 315/30R19, hence the lack of replacement choices. The 325/30R19 is used by Porsche at least, and I think a few others.
