Lots of power with basic stuff. The biggest issue is weight.

I’m still a bit confused about this. A new, heavy pushrod motor from Ford? The company that boasted “high tech” over high cubes for what, 20 years now? I mean it seems pretty stout and will probably respond really well to mods, hopefully it makes its way into the Mustang at some point, if they could shed some weight off it, it would be a sweet power plant in a lightweight stripper.

For the displacement, the weight and overall physical dimensions aren't that bad IMO. It certainly has potential.

Since it was designed as a heavy duty truck engine I am not surprised at the weight or the CID. Torque is king in the application it was designed for. Don't think it was ever intended for performance or RPM
