    Upgrades

Hi everyone, I have 1985 Mustang GT 5.0 L V8 and I was thinking of doing some work to the engine to add some horse power. I’m either thinking to do a full engine swap or upgrade the existing engine. What’s everybody’s opinion and what would you do?
    Thanks

Guess first logical question is, what are your goals / intended use?

If you have the money to spend and you can do most of the work do the coyote swap. You'll have your favourite car with the best motor Ford has built to date in your garage and if you can put a 6R80 in there do it. If not the TFS top end kit is a good reliable kit and easy to tune.

The coyote has much more room to grow then your stock bottom end 302 push rod motor and as everyone knows can handle up to 650 rwhp on a stock block on pump gas if tuned by the right person. I know lots of guys doing the swap so let me know if you need tips.

Whats the mileage on the current engine? Do a leak down test to see if its still healthy. Do you see any bearing wear in the oil or oil filter when cut open?

    Whats your budget?

How much power do you want to make?
