    Issue with my supercharger belt

    So my original belt was destroyed a few weeks ago, found the belt all shredded and wrapped around the s/c pulley, or what was left of it anyways. Finally found a replacement. Go for a rip today and open the good and half the belt has been shredded off again. Not sure what would cause that. My crank is a 7 inch and the s/c pulley is a stock 3.5 inch from vortech.

    Most likely culprit,
    poor belt alignment (have you just made changes to the set up?)
    belt making contact with a bolt, bracket etc.
    belt too loose
    belt too tight
    loose or seizing bearing in any of the units it passes over
    incorrect routing

    had that happen on my s/c 86,and it was the idler pulley was worn out.changed pulley and no more belt shredding.

    Could also be the tensioner arm pivot is worn. If so, as it cycles from looser to tighter, can actually make the pulley attached to it move the belt in and out of alignment.

    It's in my 90 5.0L it's a v3 sci trim. The kit is brand new

    Issue with my supercharger belt

    The first belt took only two days to kill the second belt only one day. It's cutting the belt on the inside, the edge of the belt facing the motor.

    Sorry the belt is actually cuttin on the outside facing the rad.
