Intake Runner size for a 5.0

Sooo many head options for a 302.

So what's the intake runner size of choice for a mild street car.

    Is 190cc too big?

Street car, stock short block, auto C4 and highway gears. I'm after response and torque over peak HP.

Hard to beat the out of the box Edelbrock Performer packages.

My trick flow hci kit, the heads are 170’s and likely all you need on a cruiser. Depends on cam choice mostly I think.
Stock engine Fox equipped with the Maximum Motorsports catalog. Now I have lots of Trick Flow stickers.

Keep in mind stock converter is crazy tight and you have no gear out back.

After much reading I think the Edelbrok Performer RPM heads with the 1.90 intake valves and 170 cc intake runners are the front runners.

As for a cam, I've convinced myself to move away from a flat tappet and spend the money to convert to roller lifters. This avoids the dreaded lobe wipe risk and need for high zinc oil. It also opens up lots of options for cams.

The RPM heads have a decent flow ratio between the intake and exhaust so I think a single pattern cam will work best. I need to do a bunch more homework but something like the good old E303 might be a decent option.

I think the Ebelbrock Performer RPM will be the manifold of choice. Seems to be the go to manifold for mild 302 builds.

Roller option is money well spent.
