    Insurance Question

My daughter boyfriend want to buy a car they live at Danforth and Coxwell area, no parking , he is an American here on a work permit, and has a Canadian D/L , he is over 30, he had insurance in Canada back in 2016 in Alberta, so the questions are, since there is no parking they can rent a spot at the no frills across the street, does insurance allow this ? will he be considered a new driver cause he has not had insurance in 5 years ??/ what everyone take a KIA soul ? that is what they are looking at 2017 in there abouts ! ??,

    Thanks, G>

Insurance won't give him the time of day till he buys something, so they know what to base the insurance on , go figure !

My wife is a CIP (certified insurance professional) with a National level bank based insurance company, I will ask her and let you know about the insurance questions

The no frills parking thing is insurance provider specific, she’s says this may be a problem.
No issue with him not being insured for a period of time, all he needs to do is provide proof of prior Canadian insurance and will not be deemed a new driver. Alberta/ BC are star ratings based on number of years, Ontario is not.
